Vacancies

Key Person - November 2023
A vacancy has arisen for a qualified Key Person within Pre-School. The post offers the opportunity to work just mornings, or just afternoons, or both, giving up to 31 hours of work per term time week.

The successful applicant should have a relevant qualification (Teaching, NVQ level 2 or above in Child Care and Education, or equivalent).

It is expected that the successful applicant will become a Key Person with help from the team. The duties as a Key Person include responsibility for a number of key children, and the details of this can be discussed at interview. There is also the possibility of advancement to Supervisor for some sessions for the right candidate.

The morning sessions run from 9am to 12 noon, with staff hours running from 8.45am to 12.15pm, allowing some time to prepare for the session and clear up afterwards. Afternoon sessions run from 12.30pm to 3.00pm so staff hours are 12.15pm to 3.15pm. Staff working both morning and afternoon sessions are given cover for their lunch break.

You would be paid £12.25 as a Key Person per hour worked. In addition you are entitled to pay at the same hourly rate for each half-termly planning meeting or staff meeting that you attend. You will also be paid for attending certain training sessions if authorised by your Line Manager. Payment for these training events will depend on the length of the training event and will be at the “Training Rate” as advised by your line manager (£11.60 per hour, for 2023/24).

The annual pay, including holiday pay, for 31 hours per term time week, would be £16,139. This would increase if some sessions are worked as a Supervisor, and staff meetings would also add to the hours worked and the pay.

The post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check, joining the DBS Update Service and staff must be acceptable to Ofsted who inspect the Pre-School.
